Halo Sport

Halo Neuroscience pioneered the use of transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) to increase neuroplasticity for athletes. Their research-backed therapy affords elite athletes the ability to “prime” their brain so that training sessions are more effective, and large-motor skills can be improved more rapidly.

Function worked with Halo on both versions of their Halo Sport headset. We assisted Halo with developing their novel foam-nib electrodes that had to be both comfortable on the scalp and able to reach through a variety of hair types. We then worked with their Industrial Design partners to create a headphones-based wearable device that was both stylish and functional. The second version of the device had both improved electronics as well as a reduced BOM cost. Function worked from concepts all the way through production ramp support for both devices.
