Computed radiography uses a phosphor-based imaging plate that replaces standard x-ray film. Rather than developing in chemicals, the exposed imaging plate is read using a scanning red-laser system.
Function designed the entire CRViewTM scanner product for the client. A working prototype was first developed that implemented the PhorMax process. This included the optical system, film handling equipment and high-speed rotary scanner unit. The laser system required precise optical adjustment plus high-speed bearing design. The scanner works with conventional x-ray equipment - transforming a traditional analog x-ray department into a digital one.
